Electronic Corporation (ELCOR) was founded
in San Jose, Costa Rica, in 1960, by Costa Rican
engineer Roy Jimenez (Senior Member of the Institute of
Electrical and Electronic Engineers). ELCOR was the
first manufacturer of broadcasting equipment in Latin
America.

Short Wave (SW) and Frequency Modulation (FM) bands at competitive prices. It also gives particular care to have these equipments adapted to the particular requirements of each project. Since then, ELCOR has built more than 400 transmitters for Center, South and North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the South Pacific.
To achieve this goal, ELCOR has established a strict selection and a training program for its staff. A Research and Development Department was created since its foundation, focused on reliability, quality, easy operation and maintenance and, finally, on the use of accessible components. The result of these programs has been the outstanding reliability and performance of the ELCOR equipment.
ELCOR’s staff comprehends high level electrical and electronics engineers and electronics technicians. Most of them have worked for the company for several years and have considerable expertise in the telecommunications electronics field. As a matter of fact, the main strength of the company lies on the training, skills and experience of its development and production human resources.

broadcast stations installations, coverage, and
consulting. Also for the evaluation and consulting of
special broadcast projects.
Since April, 2008, ELCOR became member of the DRM Consortium (Digital Radio Mondiale), a non-profit consortium composed of broadcasters, manufacturers, universities and research units from around the world, dedicated to extend and promote the DRM system.
This system proposes a standard which is universal, open, endorsed by ITU and conceived for radio digitalization. Radio digitalization intends to improve the broadcasting stations coverage and audio quality, enhance the offer for services, and make the radio spectrum a more efficient vehicle.
